The weather was good that night. As usual, we stayed by the seashore. I was reading. My favourite book. "first love never dies". From where i sat, i could saw what's everyone was doing. I saw Kyle, jack and Dean were eating at the bench. Maybe the leftovers from our bbq party. I saw Jane and May who were chit-chatting beside the campfire. I could also saw Larry who was sleeping near them. That night was the last night for us to be there. It was our graduation party. Our last meeting after our graduation ceremony last week. And yet, i still didn't told him anything. Kyle. He stoled my heart. From the first time i saw him. Three years ago. But still, i didn't know if i had to tell him. Maybe, it's best if i stay silent. So, i continued my reading. The part where i left. I really love this story. About how they fought for their love. About how they manage to stay together even after all the obstacles they had been through. It touched my heart. Everytime i read it.
"Hey, Camiey.. what are you reading?" I looked up. It was Kyle. He sat in front of me. He seems so curious. I knew Kyle. He wasn't the type of person who would show any interest in books. I wonder why he was so curious about this book.
"My favourite book, "first love never dies".. why do you ask?" Then, before i realized, everyone was there. In front of me. Even Larry. It was really odd. Everyone seems to show some interest.
"Is it really great? The story?" Asked Jane.
"Yeah, we've seen you read it like ten times already.." said Dean.
"Well, it is.. it touched my heart everytime i read it." I said.
"Can you read it to us?" I was so shocked. Never thought i would hear it from Kyle. I gigled.
"Well, of course. If you guys willing to hear it.." everyone nodded. I smiled and opened my book to the first page. And i started reading. From page to page. I glanced at them once in a while, their face was full of curiosity. On what will happen next.
"Chapter three.." i read.
"As her family busy discussing about her future, Lissa took a glance at her butler, Gary. Well, as time passed by she fell for him over and over again. He is the first boy she ever love. And maybe the last one too. but, she knew her parents. Never even in their dreams, they would let their daughter marry a butler. She love him. So much. Well, he's young, handsome, kind. Who wouldn't fall for such boy. Everytime she asked him for a favour, never once he disobeyed. Every favour she asked will always got an answer; "As you wish, my lady.." she likes it. Everytime he said that, she'll smiled.
"I'm done.." Lissa said. She put down her spoon and got up from the chair. She hated it when her parents talked about her future.
"Then, go to your room and study.." Lissa looked at her mother who was still eating.
"Let's go, Gary.." they walked into her room.
"I'm sick of living like this. Why can't i decide my own future?" Gary smiled. He knew Lissa for almost 2 years. She isn't like any other rich girl he knew. Who liked to show of on what they have. Lissa is just lissa. Her clothes isn't expensive. Altough she is the daughter of the richest family in this country, but still, she always act like a commoner. That's what he likes about her.
"Gary, can you do me a favour?"
"As you wish, my lady.. what is it?" Lissa walked closer and stood in front of him.
"Can you take me away from here?" Gary shocked. It wasn't a simple request. What was she thinking?
"But, my lady.. we can't do that. How about Master Izack and Lady Catherine?"
"You knew them, right.. they never care about what i want and what i don't. You heard them, they wanted me to marry a stranger. I don't want my life to end that way.. please, Gary. You're the only person i can trust.. do you want to watch me suffer for the rest of my life?"
He sighed. She's right. What else can he do for her. He too, didn't want to watch her suffer like this.
"As you wish.." Lissa smiled. " i stopped for a while. It really great if someone treat me like that. Others would hoped for 'i love you' or other romantic phrase. But me, i was hopping for an 'as you wish' from someone i love. That would make me smile for my entire life. Then, i looked at Kyle. He was still there. In front of me. Stared at me with his blue eyes. then i continued reading. I never knew everyone would show this much interest in this book. I smiled. It was the part for Lissa's first kiss.
"They entered the house.
"Where are we?" She asked.
"My house.."
"You live alone?" Gary nodded.
"Where are your family?"
"I don't have one. They died. When i was fourteen." Lissa nodded before she walked upstair.
"Can you live in a place like this?" He asked. Lissa then smiled.
"What? You don't think i can?" He chuckled.
"Who knows.." they entered an empty room. well not that empty. There were books everywhere.
"This is your room.. sorry about the mess. I'll tidy it up now.." gary started to pick up the books on the floor. Lissa smiled and entered the room. Well it's not that bad.
"Watch your steps.." but before he knew it, Lissa fell because of his books. He then caught her before she met the floor. Before they realized, they already in this awkward position. With Gary on top and Lissa underneath. They stared at each other for a while as Gary's face moved closer to hers. Their lips met. Times stopped for a while. It was just a simple kiss. yet, it still made her happy. The kiss just lasted for a few seconds before Gary stood up and looked away.
"I'm.. s.. sorry, my lady.. i'm not supposed to do that.." Lissa could saw his blushing face. It was so red. Like all the blood from his body gathered up there. she gigled.
"You're blushing.." she said.
"And why is that?" Gary's face redden again.
"Umm.. maybe, i should go.. i'll make our dinner.. i'll call you when i'm done.." Gary said before exited the room. Lissa blushed. She touched her lip. Then, she smiled. That maybe just a quick kiss but, it was still wonderful." I exhaled. I glanced at my friends. And i can saw Larry was sleeping. I thought so. But, everyones was still listening. I smiled and continued my reading. From the part of Lissa's first kiss, till the part where they confessed to each other.
"They ran like running for their life. No one. No one could seperated them. No one could stopped them anymore. Their love. Their true love. Not even her parents. The black suit guys were still chasing them from behind. They were her family's bodyguards. Maybe her parents sent them to find her.
"Please stop, my lady.. you can't run forever." Said one of the bodyguard. With her hand in Gary's hand, they were still running. But they stopped as the road met it's end.
"It's a dead end." They watched as the bodyguards came closer and closer to them.
"Stay behind me, my lady.." Lissa scared. She didn't want to go back to her luxury yet suffering life anymore. she wanted to stay beside Gary. Forever.
"Gary, i'm scared. I don't want to go back.. don't let them take me.. please.." gary smiled.
"As you wish.." then, he fought the bodyguards. One by one. But they were still stronger than him. He fell. His body was full of cuts, blood and wounds.
"Gary!!" The bodyguards took Lissa forcefully.
"Let go of me! Gary!!" Gary's hand was pulling one of the bodyguards leg.
"Let go of her!" He said. But the bodyguard kicked him off. Gary stood up. He punched one of the bodyguard at the face.
"I said, let her go!!" He beated them one by one. They all fell on the ground. Unconcious.
"Gary!!" Lissa ran towards the boy. but it was to late as the boy fell on the ground, unconciously." I stopped again and exhaled slowly.
"Wh.. what happen next?" Asked May. I smiled and continued.
"He opened his eyes and looked at the light in front of him.
"Am i dead?" He asked.
"No.. not yet.." that voice. He knew that voice. He then sat up.
"Lissa? Where are we?" Lissa smiled.
"My house.."
"What? We failed?" Lissa shooked her head slowly.
"We did it.. we won.." what did she mean by that? Then, two figures walked slowly into the room. It was master Izack and Lady Catherine.
"Master, my lady.." as Gary wanted to stand properly, Lady Catherine stopped him.
"Don't force youself, Gary. Rest.. you need it.." she said.
"You know who we are, right Gary? We are the richest family in this country. We'll always want the best for our daughter. And i know you're aware with that." Gary nodded slowly.
"We want Lissa to marry someone worthy. Someone.. that will make her happy.." master Izack walked closer to him. He tapped Gary gently on his shoulder.
"I am so sorry, my boy.. i never thought that you're willing to risk your own life for our daughter. I know, you can take a good care of her." Then, they slowly walked out the room. Gary silenced. What is going on?
"W.. what just happen?" He asked. Lissa gigled." I exhaled again. Take a glass of water and drank. Well, it was already the last chapter. I continued.
"It was 6 in the morning. They sat under the tree. Watching up in the air. Waiting for the first light to enter the sky. They waited. Patiently. The dark sky started to turn brighter and brighter. It was so beautiful. The sunrise. Gary huged the girl tightly and never once thought to let go.
"Gary.. can you do me a favour?" She asked.
"What is it, my lady?"
"Be mine forever.. and never think to let me go.." Gary smiled before giving Lissa a sweet kiss on her cheek.
"As you wish.." the end.." i closed the book. Everyone seems happy.
"Woaa.. so sweet.. i love this story.." said Jane.
"Yeah, now i know why you read it so many times.." said Jack. I smiled.
"Woa.. look at the time.. we better get going now.." Everyone stood up and walked towards their rooms. And left me to tidy my things up. Not much, just my book and my swimsuit.
"Hey, do you want me to help?" I looked up. It was Kyle. I thought he already gone, along with Jack, Dean and Larry.
"Naah.. i can do it my self.. you can go.. i'll be alright.." i said. With a huge grin on his face, he said.
"As you wish.." i shocked a little. As i watched him walked towards the resort, i smiled. I think i fall in love.. All over again..
Sorry for the broken english.. i've tried my best..
